Bowers Museum Exhibit: "Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China's First Emperor"

Considered one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century, the tomb complex of China's First Emperor, Shi Huangdi, features thousands of terra cotta warriors that were intended to protect him throughout eternity. Since their discovery, the terra cotta army has been termed the Eighth Wonder of the Ancient World.

2008 Cinema Orange Film Series

Co presented by the Newport Beach Film Festival and the Orange County Museum of Art, Cinema Orange will spotlight the cinematic works of independent filmmakers from around the world. Celebrating its fourth season, the 2008 Cinema Orange summer film series will showcase an eclectic slate of feature length narrative, documentary, short and animated films from the recent 2008 Newport Beach Film Festival. Dedicated to championing the works of aspiring and established filmmakers, the Festival and OCMA proudly embrace the passion, independent spirit and creative vision of these talented artists.

American Ballet Theatre

Pageant of the Masters

Each night during the summer season at 8:30 the Festival of Arts presents its most famous attraction, the Pageant of the Masters.

What is it?

Ninety minutes of "living pictures" - incredibly faithful art re-creations of classical and contemporary works with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces. An outdoor amphitheater, professional orchestra, original score, live narration, intricate sets, sophisticated lighting, expert staff, and hundreds of dedicated volunteers have won recognition for the Pageant as the best presentation of its kind.
