Beethoven’s “Emperor” concerto is virtually symphonic in conception, but it gives the soloist many opportunities for virtuosic brilliance. Carlos Miguel Prieto returns to conduct works by three Mexican composers: Chávez, Revueltas and Ana Lara, whose new concerto "Altre lontananze" (“Other Distances”) features the William J. Gillespie Concert Organ.
