The Anaheim Whitehouse Review
Beautiful, warm and welcoming décor greets you with open arms. As we are led to cloth covered tables by our host we instantly feel like part of the family. Opened since 1981 the restaurant is a national historical landmark. The current owner Bruno Serato took over the restaurant in 1987 and focused on Northern Italian cuisine. Fast forward a few years and the restaurant is now an infamous hotspot with locals and celebrities alike.
They have an extensive wine selection with house wines and bottles of wine available. The accomplished bartender is available to make a selection of mixed drinks and cocktails, your choice or let him surprise you. We opted for a Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini…perfectly chilled with a sugar rim.
It was a Monday night, so while there were many diners, yet it wasn't packed. Our server made recommendations when asked, explained items to us and showed a wonderfully warm personality making the dining not only delicious but fun too. The menu is extensive with appetizers, soups and salads, entrees and desserts. I recommend the Brie with Blackberry & Raspberry Coulis or Tuna Tartare to begin with. Normally I stay away from salads at Italian restaurants but their White House Passion Fruit Vinaigrette is an absolute MUST! Dinners include a variety of pasta dishes but also Ossobucco Milanese and Salmon Chocolat.
The food was delicious from the Gnocchi, to the Penne Carbonara to the special of the night Bacon Wrapped Filet with Red Skinned Potatoes and Asparagus to compliment. Everything was freshly cooked with ample portions. You almost want to keep eating just to keep trying all the different, unique, original and authentic old world Italian flavors.
Overall, dining at The Anaheim Whitehouse Restaurant is a 5 star experience. I can't wait to go back again. Whether it's a family meal or date night with my other half I plan on returning really soon and look forward to trying the many other items on the menu.
